The First Nation Group Foundation was excited to welcome the National Veterans Golden Age Games (NVGAG) as the featured nonprofit for our Q2 Quarterly Cause Connection (QCC) session, a program that inspired employees, partners, and community members alike.
The Quarterly Cause Connection is a virtual lunch and learn series designed to educate, inspire, and connect participants with nonprofit organizations making a meaningful impact for Veterans, active duty military members, and underserved communities. As part of each session, the foundation proudly provides a $250 donation on behalf of every attendee to support the featured organization.
The National Veterans Golden Age Games, initiated in 1985 by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, was created to highlight the preventative and therapeutic benefits of sports and wellness for older Veterans receiving care through the VA. Today, the program continues to promote healthy aging through physical activity, competition, and community, helping Veterans improve overall wellness and quality of life.
Brittany Hook, Director of the NVGAG, and Evan Davis, National Program Coordinator and Event Lead, shared how meaningful the program is in practice. Each year, the NVGAG welcome more than 1,000 Veterans to participate in activities ranging from boccia and cornhole to track and field and swimming. With eight age categories spanning 55 to 90 plus, the event embodies its “Fitness for Life” motto and celebrates lifelong movement and connection.
The National Veterans Golden Age Games is more than a week of competition. It is a pathway for Veterans to discover what matters most to them, set personal wellness goals, and connect with local programs that support ongoing physical activity and healthy living throughout the year.
Through our Veterans + Community Services impact area, The First Nation Group Foundation is proud to support programs like the National Veterans Golden Age Games that advance wellness, community connection, and quality of life for Veterans.
We are honored to spotlight impactful organizations like the National Veterans Golden Age Games through our Quarterly Cause Connection series and to help amplify their mission and reach. And, we are especially looking forward to cheering on these athletes, #TOGETHERSTRONG, in person at the 2026 National Veterans Golden Age Games in Tampa, Florida!
